Mrs. WhelchelMrs. Whelchel is a 2013 graduate from the University of Texas in El Paso. She received her M.Ed. as an Instructional Specialist in Early Childhood there. She will finish her Special Education Endorsement for PK-3rd in May of 2017. She also is a 2007 graduate from the University of Iowa, where she received her BFA in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design. She currently holds her certification to teach K-6 Elementary, K-8 Art, K-8 Speech Communications/Theatre and PK-3 in Iowa. She also has her license to teach EC-6th grade in Texas. She completed her student teaching (internship) at Tippin Elementary at EPISD in El Paso, TX. She has 3 years of experience teaching. She is currently a part time Preschool Teacher at Iowa Valley Elementary. She taught Preschool at Waco Elementary during the 2016-2017 school year, she taught 2nd grade at Clendenin Elementary during the 2013-2014 school year, and she taught 4th grade at Cardinal Elementary during the 2014-2015 school year.
Natalie Whelchel was born and raised in Iowa. She recently moved back to Iowa after living in Texas while her husband served in the United States Army. Her mother, who has taught elementary music and beginning band for the last 30 years, inspired her to go into the teaching profession. She currently lives in Coralville with her husband, her daughter, her two cats and her yellow labrador. Some of Mrs. Whelchel's favorites include chocolate, sushi, cooking, art, design, painting and photography. Natalie enjoys designing, and making resources for other teachers and herself. |
